I’m sure most of us know that marriage can, at times, be very stressful.  There are times that absolutely everything is getting on our nerves. I have a friend, we’ll call her Nika. When my husband and I were dating, Nika had just gotten married. There’s that time everyone calls the “adjustment time” when you realize that all those things you thought were cute just annoy you.
Nika had that situation. She called me very upset about one thing in particular. She was crying. She was angry. She was ready to call it quits.  Of course, a very concerned friend, I asked what had happened. Her answer? He always squeezes the toothpaste from the middle of the tube and she liked it from the end. Not exactly a deal breaker.

I tried not to laugh. Sometimes we find ourselves arguing over trivial things with our husbands or other people when they can be simply fixed. I think we find ourselves feeling we are locked into a situation before we realize there is a remedy. If you’re wondering what that remedy is for the toothpaste, my husband and I have our own tube. We never argue about the toothpaste. It’s never been an issue, and it’s okay to have your own stuff. You don’t have to share EVERYTHING when you’re married! Now if I can only get my own toilet with the seat glued down…
