Would you really walk a mile in HIS shoes???
Today while at work, one of my customers asked me how things were going. I told her about this blog, and all about my husband and the dirty laundry. She laughed and continued to tell me about her husband and the “joy” she recently had with him. We’ll call her Carol.
Carol’s husband has a TON of old dirty shoes in the closet, yet the other day when he went on his fishing trip, what pair did he wear but his good, new shoes.
He traditionally fishes in a boat and steps into the mucky, fishy water to push off. So when he came home, he kicked off his nice shoes that were now mucky and had a fishy smell; better yet, he kicked them off in the kitchen of all places. Carol asked, “Why didn’t you wear your old shoes instead of ruining your good ones?” His completely serious response, “I didn’t ruin my shoes, it’s just like washing them.”
It took Carol a lot of work and bleach to get that look and smell out of those shoes, and of course he just didn’t get it. It makes me wonder if that was washing the shoes, what else and how do men clean?
